London, Sep 7 (IANS) Sedentary men who work beyond 45 hours a week double their risk of dying from heart failure. However, men who keep fit or exercise and work long hours face no increased risk of dying from cardiac conditions.

The study examined data for 5,000 men -- aged between 40 and 59 years from 14 different companies -- which included their fitness levels over 30 years, reports the Daily Mail. The men did cycling exercise tests to assess their fitness and provided details on the average number of hours they worked every week, according to the journal Heart.

Around 70 percent of men worked between 41 and 45 hours a week, while around 20 percent worked longer hours. Over the course of the study, there were 587 deaths from heart disease caused by the narrowing and hardening of arteries.

Experts found that men who were unfit were at the greatest risk of dying from heart disease, particularly if they worked long hours.

Those who were both unfit and worked more than 45 hours a week were more than twice as likely to die from the disease than men working fewer than 40 hours.

And men who worked 41 to 45 hours a week had a 59 percent higher risk of dying from heart disease compared to those working under 40 hours.

Physically fit men working longer hours were 45 percent less likely to die of heart disease and 38 percent less likely to die of other causes than those who were unfit.

The findings, by a team from the National Research Centre for the Working Environment in Denmark, held true despite factors likely to influence the results, such as work stress and living conditions.

With thanks from the source: http://in.news.yahoo.com/43/20100907/1537/tls-no-exercise-long-work-hours-double-h_1.html

Colour and you

This guided visualization allows you to explore your relationship with colour. Do you have a favourite colour? Do particular colours have meaning for you? What role, if any, does colour play in your life? Let's explore!

I encourage you to read the visualization then close your eyes to work your way through it. If you need to open your eyes to remind yourself of the next step, please do so. Then close your eyes and continue with the visualization.

1. Get comfortable in a quiet location. I like to sit with my feet flat on the floor and my hands resting in my lap with the palms up and open. Having your feet on the floor helps you to root in the earth. Having your palms open indicates your willingness to receive. If you have physical challenges and my preferred position is uncomfortable, please choose the location and position that works best for you.

2. Now, notice your breathing. Follow your breath as you breathe in and as you breathe out. Breathe in easily and gently. Breathe out easily and gently. Take several easy, gentle breaths. Now, gradually deepen your breathing. Follow your breath as you breathe in and as you breathe out deeply and completely. Now, give yourself permission to relax. Feel yourself relax.

3. Now, open your consciousness and think about colours. What comes into your consciousness? Does a particular colour come to you? Does it remind you of a particular location, event or person? What comes into your consciousness when you ponder colour?

4. Now, let's explore what came to you in more detail. Do you feel any emotions? What are they? Are you happy, mad, sad, glad or something else? Ask yourself if it is in your highest good to savour this experience. If the answer is yes, please savour this experience. If the answer is no, is there anything that you could clear away? Sometimes things come up so we have the opportunity to clear them away and fill the space created with positive energy. Please use the clearing technique that works for you to carry this out.

5. Now, open your consciousness and ask yourself if you have a favourite colour? If the answer is yes, let that colour come into your consciousness. If the answer is no, ask yourself if you like many colours. If the answer is yes, let these colours come into your consiousness. If the answer is no, ask yourself to bring a favourite of a different kind into your consciousness. Explore what comes into your consciousness and savour the experience.

6. If you do have a favourite colour, what is the meaning of that colour for you? Let this information come into your consciousness. Does this colour remind you of particular places, events or people in your life? Let this information come into your consciousness easily and gently. Allow yourself to explore the meaning of this colour in your life. Savour the experience.

7. Now, begin your journey back to regular consciousness. Begin to notice your surroundings. Notice any noises in your surroundings. Notice where you are sitting. Notice your breathing. When you are ready, return to regular consiousness. Stretch and open your eyes, ready for whatever comes next in your day. Know that you will remember your experience with colour as you continue on with your day.

To the joy of colour,
Karen

© 2010 SPIRIT Connections

If you want to get rid of fat, it is important that you do weight training three times a week focussing on different muscles groups each time.

To begin with, here is what weight lifting can do:

1. triggers weight loss process
2. Improves posture
3. Increases bone density.
4. Sculpts the physique.
5. Releases feel good hormones

These are just some benefits I have listed. But you can only imagine the vast changes your body will undergo once you start weight lifting.

If you have excess weight around your belly, rolls of fat that look like thick tire, I have just the right combination of exercises you can use. All these exercises need that you use the right technique, so either you work with a fitness trainer or do thorough research on the internet. The last thing you want to do is have a muscle sprain.

This is how I usually plan my own work out: I break the total work out time into three parts:

Stretches - 15 mins

Aerobic exercises - basic warm ups, stepper, treadmill - 15 mins

Anaerobic exercises that includes Weight lifting - 50 mins

The below exercises covers a total body work out. All these exercises require a barbell. Use weights that you are comfortable with.

1. Dead lifts with barbell

2. Barbell rows

3. Squats with barbell

4. Barbell shoulder press

5. Barbell behind neck press

You could make 3 sets with 20 reps each, using 2.5 pounds on each side of the barbell adn gradually increase the weights.

Keep in mind, if you do these exercises without proper guidance, you might sprain your back.

If this is not convincing enough, read what Mark Mogavero says in his article, "the Best exercise out there? Dead Lift" To quote him from this link :http://www.fitness-nutrition-weightloss.com/the-best-exercise-out-there-the-deadlift.html

"The barbell version targets the muscles of the lower back and hamstrings as the primary movers, but the real benefit comes from all of the various stabilizing muscles that are called upon to maintain proper form throughout this exercise. These include all of the muscles that stabilize your spine, your transverse abdominus and rectus abdominus (your 'Abs'), internal and external obliques (the side of your abdomen), your lats and traps (the large muscles of your middle and upper back, and to some extent your pectoral or chest muscles."

This guided visualization takes you through a process about living an integrated life. There is a section in it about dealing with the expectations of your work place whether self-imposed or otherwise.

3. Now, take this opportunity to reflect on your life. As you continue to relax, take look back over the past week of you life. How would you describe it? Are you living an "integrated" life? That means making conscious choices and having time for each part of your life. Or would you say you are "sleepwalking" through your life. That means life has become busy. You are spending your time trying to keep up. You are making few conscious choices. Or are you somewhere in between? That means in some parts of your life you make conscious choices while in others you are sleepwalking through your life.

4. Now, take a few deep cleansing breaths. Breathe in through your nose. Now, breathe out forcefully through your mouth. With each cleansing breath, let yourself release any tensions or concerns that may have arisen when you reviewed the past week of your life. Take 3 cleansing breaths and feel yourself release easily and gently.

5. Now, open your consiousness to all the wisdom that is available to you. What small steps can you take to live a more integrated life? Notice as the ideas present themselves to you. Know that you will remember each idea when this guided visualization is over. Continue to allow the ideas to come into your consciousness. When the flow of ideas has stopped, allow yourself to relax once more.

6. Now, look over the list of ideas that came to you. Which ones would be easy for you to implement? Which ones would take a bit more effort? Now, imagine yourself implementing one of the simpler ideas. Where are you? Who is involved? What time of day is it? What are you wearing? What can you see? What can you hear? What can you taste? What can you smell? What can you touch? What are you doing? Imagine the situation in great detail. See yourself successfully implementing your chosen strategy. What does this success mean to you? Take a moment to savour your success.

7. Now, do you feel tied to work due to a smart phone? If yes, continue with this guided visualization. If no, go to the last step and begin your return to regular consciousness. Now, back to the smart phone: do you do this on your own or is it an expectation of your workplace? If this is something that you do on your own, ask yourself if being "on call" is in your highest good. If you have a family, is it in their highest good? Do you give up anything in the rest of your life by being tied to work?

8. Now, if you received guidance that being tied to work through your smart phone is in your highest good, take a few deep breaths and relax. You can then go to the last step and begin your return to regular consciousness. However, if you received guidance that changes are needed, open your consiousness and ask for guidance about the steps you can take. Know that you will remember the guidance you receive when this guided visualization is over.

9. Now, these next steps are for those of you who keep your smart phone with you and on after hours because it is an expectation of your workplace. Open your consciousness and ask what, if anything, can be done at this time to address this situation at your workplace. Your guidance may say that nothing can be done at this time. You can ask the question again later and see if circumstances have changed.

10. Now, if you received guidance about steps that could be taken at your workplace, ask for guidance about which strategy to implement first. Let the answer come into your consciousness. Now, imagine yourself putting this strategy into action. Now, imagine yourself implementing this strategy.

11. Know that you will remember the guidance and ideas your received during this guided visualization.

Note: If your guidance told you that there is a better time to work on the issue of smart phones, I encourage you to use this guided visualization again in a few weeks or months. Circumstances may change at your work place and make it possible to implement strategies to cut the ties to work through smart phones after work hours.

To freedom of choice and an integrated lifestyle,
Karen

© 2010 SPIRIT Connections

Mental Health Care and Treatments in the Developing Countries – A Review

We have greater need for health care services in many parts of the world, particularly in the developing countries, where it is not well provided by the governments except in few cases. So, the private sector plays an important role in it. If there is less attention paid at the governmental hospitals and health care centers, the private sector is not only costly, but there is so much competition that one can go to any extreme to win the gold medal as the best service provider. We discuss this great health concern in this review.

The worst that happens in such cases is that these doctors usually join a penal that has higher authority than normal team of doctors. If it happens to be team of doctors from around the world, it is not just a penal, but a kind of NGO extension that can surpass even the governments. To join such national and internal penal, one simply need to prove not the medical standards, but the social pathology, which one can claim even without being a expert of the field on which the penal works. For example, the dental doctor can qualify to give the sociological aspects blended with psychology in general. It can include almost all faculties of knowledge that can add to such medical works.

This very thing has been warned as not to over trust or rely on others. Also being over suspicious is avoidable. However, many people in mental cases, who are schizophrenic or religious usually, have suspicious nature and doubts. This very nature of suspicion and doubting is highly common among creative people, but in medical manipulations it can be proved as mental sickness.

The doctors, who want medal does ignore the fact that people, who has strong faith lack confidence and thus cannot hide their doubts, fears, and thus suspicious nature as they use it for curiosity and creative imagination for exploring the unknown, which is full of uncertainty and thus the fear of unknown remains present. It has great effect on the knowledge that gives confidence because without knowledge one cannot be confident.

Please read more at the forum.
This is a very serious question: Are you ready for your NEXT program or your LAST program?

I have seen it all after 20 years full time at home! The MLM Model is totally flawed & that is why so many people are failing (over 97%)!!! They jump from program to program, since most are not long term, and are based on people spending "New Money"! Most have bad compensation plans (a Matrix is the BEST and a Binary is the worst) to make the company and big distributors rich! Most have over priced products that people only buy for a short time! Many are short term money games and most hot new deals never last (over 98% fail in their first 2 years of operation)! I know everyone thinks by being the first in or near the top that they will make a lot of money, WRONG!

Now, let's talk about security and the LAST program you will ever need for life! Suppose a company is NOT based on MLM principles, but rather the concept of "Transfer Buying", are you curious yet? Instead of having people spend "New Money" on things they don't buy already, suppose we have products that they buy daily and can replace them at LESS money that at the stores? Suppose they are totally superior and chemical free to help people stay healthier! Suppose the customer reorder rate is over 95% since 1985, do you think this adds up to a "True Residual Income For Life"? Suppose they have almost 400 products where most are used daily, do you think people have a lot to choose from?

Suppose the company uses "Referral Marketing" instead of the term "Distributors", are you curious again? We do NOT distribute any products, everyone signs up as a customer and buys product direct from the company (no, this is NOT Amway or Quixtar with over priced products)! I do not buy, mark up, or sell products ever, so I am not a distributor! This is the reason this company is a solid as a rock with continued growth since their inception in 1985 and on track to do 1 BILLION dollars in sales this year! Again, are you ready for your LAST program? If so, contact me for 1 online presentation and see how powerful this is!

Countries we are in so far: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Bahamas, Mainland China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Malyasia, and Germany (around May, 2010).

Tom Sparrow-CEO
Health Innovations & Marketing, Inc.
http://tomsparrow.info
http://www.melaleuca.com
248-624-0942 or 248-705-9716 (cell)
scubapro48@gmail.com
Skype: tom.sparrow53
